I bought a fiskers 8lbs. splitting maul Friday night. I had to go out to the wood pile after I got home to try it out real quick! That thing is a beast! It made quick work of a knoty red oak round. I can't wait until my 17 year old can give it a workout . I love the 36" handle.

I bought the 8lb maul for a friend and ended up buying one for myself as well. Last year I bought the X27 as my first axe and was really impressed with it. I've been using the maul for most of my splitting now though as it is more efficient on the larger rounds. I like the isocore handle. I'm quite happy with these two as my only splitting tools and have split at least 8 cords of wood this season with them.
