Got the new dogs in the mail today. I know it might be overkill for a firewood guy to use large spikes.....but I love the look!! Thoughts?

I thought that there'd be more of a canine twist here.

But those do look like they have some bite.

Your not alone. Here where I live they do not sell the big Husqvarna saws without them. IMG_20191209_194919769.jpg

I like'em, thick bark or not. Cutting firewood, I'm a little on the OCD side as far as keeping my length consistent and a trimmed off branch that didn't get cut off nice and flush would keep my original (one side) "puppy" dogs would not reach the log because the body of the saw would be against the branch stub leaving the dogs mid air and useless. Gota love that leverage, especially with a big saw:thumbs:

Those look like the ones that came on my 372. Work good on cottonwoods.

My dolkita has the big spikes. I like them. Just be careful as they will poke your leg as easily as the log. Easier I think.:bug:

I put large dogs on my 461. I used them for a while the put the small ones back on. The big dogs bite too hard for me, but they do look cool!

I can't imagine having less than 2. We've had 3 for a long time. We'll probably have 3 again at some point in the next couple of years. You know, because we can't ever have only 1.;). Unfortunately they don't live forever.

My buddy says that if I dulled my spikes down a little that it would help my saw cut faster. IDK if I believe that. I know a muffler mod will make it cut faster, but even stock with a cat in the muffler it's way louder than my buddy's 460 magnum.

We had two for a while...brother and sister white boxers. Unfortunately we lost my boy Brock to cancer about 3 months ago. His sister hasn't been the same since

That's really rough. On you and the other pup.

Honestly I think it takes years to get over the loss of a beloved family dog.
