They're eating everything in the yard this year. They even ate pears right off the tree. They must have been up on their hind legs. I've got nets on everything. It's only November !
My mom, bless her heart, believes almost anything that is published. I remember her reading that bar soap will deter deer from the yard....I think she cleaned out an entire Costco of Irish Spring and twine, punched holes in the soap with a hammer and nail, and hung Irish Spring all over the yard! The next morning, the look on her face as she looked out the back window at the deer munching on her fruit trees and flowers was PRICELESS! I just wonder if the deer were wondering why the yard smelled so clean? Or if the neighbors thought she was totally nuts, out there hanging soap all over the yard. "It will work, I read an article..."
Squirrels are my nemesis!!!!!! I got a contract on my house, and during inspection some acorn shells and a long time dead squirrel was found in the attic. Soooo......the buyers put on the demand list removal and clean up (no problem), and Exclusion- which is installing metal flashing between the shingles and the trim. That Damm Squirrel and his rodent family cost me $2,300!!!! I have an air rifle, and from now on any squirrel within sight distance is a dead squirrel!
yep. putting a bar of soap between the mattress and box spring will prevent muscle cramps at night, also... oh my! some of the crap you hear! ...
It blocks off any point of entry to the attic. The way I understand it is that there is a tiny gap underneath the shingle at the edge of the roof that allows the furry little buggers to get in underneath. I attached a youtube video the shows the process pretty well, although I didn' have the carpentry damage they talk about at the beginning.
We have deer in the yard pretty much every day. They wipeout our plants and trees at the house. Couple make it to the freezer once deer season opens.
my biggest problem is chipmunks. They are always running in and out of my stacks. And Ruger likes chasing them!
I've got a few that like to come down the hill and nibble on the ends of my apple tree branches and the fallen apples that we didn't use due to worms, rot, etc. They've got a yard of guts or they're just plain stupid. I can get close enough to hit em between the eyes offhand with a snubbie. One of these days I'll do it, and enjoy every bite!
I have two fifty foot rows of leafless stems to attest to that. Now covered with net. With the warmer weather spells a few have sprouted new leaves.
