Got a call Saturday evening. We dropped the 3 trees beside our garage if you want the wood. DOH!!! I'm thinking some type of hybrid poplar. Mostly dead and dry. 800 feet from the splitting area.

I'll take everything that looks like firewood. I can use the rock bucket and push all the brush limbs into the fencerow.

I think some of the real dry/dead stuff might be sold as campfire wood yet this summer .

Sometimes convenience and helping a friend/neighbor makes it an easy choice to take sub-optimal wood. Helping a neighbor and scoring a few free btus.. Gotta love it even if it's not shagbark. :)
