I have to transport 2 saws and assorted PPE for a couple of hundred miles. Does anyone have any ideas in how to store your gear in an open bed of the truck? Theft isn't a worry, just the elements

I like the individual plastic saw cases like these.

I use a waterproof duffel bag for my boots and PPE and a milk crate for gas, oil, files, wedges, extra chains, and tools etc.

I have seen guys make costume boxes of retrofit totes for everything but I find these large boxes heavy and cumbersome. I find the smaller individual bags and cases are easier to manage and can be wedged into or tied onto a full load of wood taking up less space.

I use the plastic cases as well; block them in with a ratchet bar like Harbor-Freight sells.

I use the plastic cases and use a 4 by 4 against the wheel wells to keep stuff from sliding

I have a 2 x 6 for a base and a 2 x 4 screwed to it. Slots are cut in the 2 x 4 for the bars to fit. 4 saws will fit in the back seat and not slide around. A tarp is on the seats, then plywood and then a moving blanket covered with cardboard. This is a work truck and smells just like chainsaws as it should. It's my truck and it is used for firewood. 10-31-19 8.JPG 10-31-19 14.JPG 1023191119.jpg 10-31-19 2.JPG 10-31-19 4.JPG 10-31-19 7.JPG

My last trucks back seats were the saw cabinets, and smelled like saws. I miss that. But the new truck still has the new car smell. And can't bring myself to kill it yet!

I use this. It came on the truck when I bought it, but I really like it. You guys got me hauling so much “stuff “ I hardly got room for wood. Yes the box cuts down on the amount of wood I can haul, but if it’s much of a score or project I’ll be dragging a trailer. Holds 3 saws, couple gallons of bar oil. 8 quarts of gas mix hookaroon, wedges. The silver briefcase has 3 chains for each bar, screnches, files, greaser thingy, etc. B2C9D688-D915-4CE7-B723-4C8981EFBBCD.jpeg 2259B43D-9E5A-4164-96F4-EB1B69202576.jpeg 91F3E512-178C-416B-8A9F-8A846117CFC0.jpeg 4AC0ABD9-FC15-425A-B64F-2171BE735471.jpeg

A4ECCB97-7280-451E-A5A4-2EAFBEA89A55.jpeg I was searching around for ideas on a headache rack with away to lock stuff up. Im thinking an over the cab rack with a welded frame that would lock up, expanded metal? Usually saws go in the backseat under the kid’s feet. I never leave them in the bed, due to theft potential. I often stop for lunch, fuel etc.
Edit- something like this, but definitely more triangulation. And deeper basket.
