Just got this info "elsewhere" and thought I'd share. Here's the store.......Johnson City, Tn..........started the process to see if it was legit. It is. $649 plus 99 shipping to your curb, plus tax.
Has me 2nd guessing now. I could have one in my driveway in a week to 10 days. Then, on the hearth and burning within the hour. Probably frying myself out of the house.
It's a good time of the year to get deals , the season is nearly over and the stove shops and other retailers will slow to a crawl shortly. Poor Dave, back and forth. Might pull a neck muscle or worse
Papa, from one thread to the other. Time is not on your side with this deal. Clock ticks faster over here.
2200 ft of heating. Normally $900. How can you go wrong. But make sure it is what you really want. That is when a bargain is a real bargain.
If you have the money and you want it, then it's up to how bad you want it versus the savings or something else you may need. If your stove is good...well....
BUT depending on current finances it could be worth it. For that kind of money he could burn it for a season or two then probably sell it for 500-600.
I was pretty close to waking up this morning and ordering the NC30 at that price. I've been waiting for the stars to align on it for 4 years. The IS, although not as inexpensive as I thought it might be, still seems like a really good fit for me. By the time I tack on tax and shipping, the price will be around $2600 (WAG at this point). I could get the Sirocco for 2900 out the door, but no ash pan.
Will it be much different than what you have now? Too hot for a while, then down to comfortable? It will burn longer, and probably use less wood, I suppose. And that offer stands. I bet there is a huge difference between shipping to Atlanta and a dock in Ypsilanti. Not like I won't be driving by at least a dozen times this spring, summer, and fall.
That's what I thought. Yep, I keep going back to that. Not much point jumping from the pan to the fire.....so to speak. The IS seems able to be a get it hot, set it where you want, then forget it, kind of stove.
I'm sure the IS is a capable stove and it may be a low burner just like a BK.(I think it probably is from reports) At this point I'd personally spend the extra couple bucks on the BK if I had to decide today. If I could wait until the IS was in production with a couple shoulder seasons under it's belt I may change my mind. The Sirocco is also a better looking stove in my opinion.(we know what opinions are like. )
With all the talk lately about the IS, BK owners have been a little bit quiet. Thanks for the comparison. I'm going back and forth,....I know, but I could do the Sirocco by dropping the conv. deck, fan, and legs to bring it down to a similar price point. Those could be added later, if I thought they were needed.
