So I stopped by an Antique Mall yesterday and spotted this axe. Is this a factory axe or did someone hack this up in a garage?
No idea, but I’ve been asked before “Eric, did you cut a Collins axe in half?” by none other than our wonderful member walt.... “Why yes I did Walt!”
It almost looks like a section was cut out. I have not seen a single bit axe head that looks like that. Possibly it was damaged or the side cracked out and the damage was cut out. I don't recognize the stamp. A little more grinding and you could have a Hudson Bay style axe.
That's what bothered me. It could have been a Hudson Bay style axe but the hard corner seems to make it impractical. I don't recognize the double diamond Maker's Mark.

Nice collection there. The carpenters hatchet on the top left and the hewing axe on the right look real good.
