My sons 18th

Tomorrow my boy turns 18. I work so I wouldn't be able to do this, so I decided to today. Hottest day of the year so far. Triple digit heat index and I'm building a fire.




Earlier in the day I was cookie cuttin'.


Apple wood cookies in da tub! lol

 

The prep. 2 racks of pork ribs, membranes removed, fully rubbed.


And cleaning up and readying the smoker. Eanie meanie miney mo.

The one on the right I've been using since 2000. Not bad for 18 years old! I was just given the left one.

On smoke @ 12 noon.


I usually do 3,2,1.
3 hours on smoke, 2 in foil with apple juice concentrate and 1 on sauce.

Here also but 18 in Quebec which was not enforced when I was that age

 

Overhere its sweet 16 for beers - all the other good stuff is 18.
But from just looking at it, i reckon he will pick the bbq over the beer anytime!
You getting him his 1st chainsaw?

Can't remember if I was 16 or 17 when I purchased my first shotgun, it was a LONG time ago.

Hope the young wolverine enjoys that fine meal.

13 here think Dad had to sign for it though. Sure did mow a lot of grass, but defineatly worth it!! Still my favorite shotgun!
