I saw this guy poking around my processing area.... he was napping for the pic. Seriously though, shot was about 40 yards, supressor equipped Marlin 880, 9 power Simmons and Eley Subsonic HP. Now I know I can get em if I see one. Problem is seeing them and not spooking them.
They are being destructive, I've been trapping them. Holes in my plastic downspouts and building nests in the pipe discharge pipe, making their way into the attic....
The population of those varmints this spring was off the charts. At some point in mid July, the population dropped off to almost nothing. Not sure what happened, but I wasn't complaining. They're more than welcome to do cute little chipmunk things in the woods. Once they get in the house/garage, then its game on.
They get into all the buildings. Diggers they are. My wife has shot 85 so far this year. There is far from a shortage yet. They just keep coming. The hardest part shooting them is they usually don't hold still very long.
85!?!?is that a typo? Maybe you meant to say 8.5 because you couldn't find a second half of one?!? That's a pile!
The ones around here all seem to have taken up full time napping as a vocation. Haven't seen a single one in a couple weeks.
That's not a typo. His wife really is a crack shot! Over the last month or so, Dennis has been posting the amounts she has put to sleep. Very impressive to say the least!
A rat trap and peanut butter does a fine job reducing the population. Make sure to tie or stake the trap down though. If the population is out of control you can get them as fast as you re-bait the trap. I'm only 1/4 of what Mrs. Savage is.
Not a typo. She's a good shot and they just keep coming. Geeze, I was sitting in a deer blind and the things just kept coming in to me there too. No, I did not shoot them in the blind...
