We recently purchased a Drolet HT3000 it will be replacing a fisher style plate stove that I nicknamed the wood beast. She throws plenty of heat but she is hungry! DB56EC5B-4C41-4905-923F-DB4C7D5FF702.jpeg Don’t mind the mess. One of the luxury’s of a basement install is the mess is out of the living area.
After the Christmas celebrations were done and the guests left I had some time to myself. Removed the stove and cleared the “hearth” area. F6677B19-B143-4F94-B714-C9E7BA442551.jpeg Tomorrow I’ll rent an electric stair climber dolly and get the new stove in place. I need to pick up some screws( I have some here somewhere :headbang:). I thought about installing using 2 45 elbows instead of a 90 but I haven’t ever had draft issues so I’ll run the 90. 28C74A77-0D70-47B2-A625-7CB181C79CA7.jpeg luckily we are having a warm spell it’s 55*f out we have had the some windows and even doors open at times today with all the cooking going on. It’s supposed to drop off now so the drolet will be put to the test quick after proper break in.

BFE5DC3E-84BC-4F25-8D46-94F5C8431233.jpeg A pic of the stove in the truck after picking it up. The freight company must of had their hands full it as an ordeal with them. Shoulda taken a pic of the bota lifting it out for the botas at work thread but it was late and dark, rain was forecasted I had to move fast.

I have and still am looking into an indoor boiler but I have only one flue to work with as far as wood heat goes and I want to have a heater that doesn’t require electricity. When the oil boiler gets to a point where it needs to be replaced I’ll replace it with a wood boiler and install a small stove in the living area for power outages and when extra chooching is required.

Lookin good Warner ! I can't wait to hear what you think of her.
We had a power outage Wednesday afternoon and I was never so glad to have the stove running and warmed up. It was a good feeling knowing that know matter what comes, we will have warmth.

    Keep us updated brother!

The dolly holds most of the weight but you still have to manhandle it a bit.

Did you put it on blocks like you wanted?
I thought I might want to do that, but when I got mine in place, it was a little bigger than I thought it would be.

I did not have time to fuss with the blocks. Something I may change in the off season.

Looks like you may not have much extra room for blocks with the height of your chimney connection? I guess as long as you still have good rise on the run, probably be OK since you are on a tall chimney...?

And this is how all work should be done.....ATTACKED!

Or, you could sit around thinking about it and asking for help for someone else to do it for you!

Wish in 1 hand crap in the other.avi - YouTube

Obviously, Warner does not subscribe to the "I need to do this....I need to get that .... I really should have done it earlier/sooner" ....(on and on and on) school of thought!

Good job on getting it done Warner !! :handshake:
