Not sure who all follows "In the Woodyard" but thought I would share this wood yard he stumbled across the other day and posted about today.
Haven't watched the whole thing yet but will say when I lived near Escanaba I also knew guys who also sold firewood in Chicago. That is a long trip but was always told it was well worth it for the prices they got.
That was something to see. I seldom watch long videos like that too. Something for jrider to do when he retires! I kept waiting for the black locust pile too!
Wow that is crazy amont of wood. Quite the operation. So well organized too. Wonder what they're paying for a cord of wood in Chicago? Interesting to see the dry time of those cone piles. Thanks for sharing thebierguy
Hey buddy, very familiar with Chris at "In The Woodyard". He's the Steve Jobs of firewood...wait a minute, he looks a little like Steve Jobs
For what it’s worth, in years past I have sold morel mushrooms. I got around $40 a pound. One of my buyers would take them to downtown Chicago as he had relationships with head chefs at fancy restaurants. He would get $90 a pound down there.
I like how absolutely everything is sold and nothing goes to waste. That's what I strive to do...on a slightly smaller scale of course (only 70 more employees to go!).
