Need a moment of silence. I had to lay to rest, a shop vac dust bag I had for 4 years. Even duct tape couldn't help it any more(and there was plenty of that on it).:salute: Thank you. kap

I like the gorilla duct tape better than the silver stuff. Much stronger IMHO. Some of my temp fixes are almost permanent! :D

I understand your sorrow, I had a pillowcase I used on a job site table saw for dust collection, lasted 18 years had to replace it last summer. I still miss that little guy. It will get easier but you will think of it every time you change a bag

It is tougher, but sometimes not as sticky as the silver stuff. I use both on my corn cleaner. kap

I too have a shop vac with a duct taped hose, set it down for a second or two to move a plant to suck up underneath and my electric radiator heater melted it

    Some things just amaze you...
I bought my big Craftsman shopvac in the 70's.
And I use the crap out of it (carpentry) as well as stove cleanings..
Has the ORIGINAL filter in it still..
I think the new ones were pushing thirty bucks, so I just take it outside,
and blow it out with compressed air... good to go....

I do the same with mine. I wash the foam ones as I have a spare. The paper ones that wrap it, I blow clean and reuse. They are older then dirt.
