Went this afternoon to finish the hickory from my current Asplundh cut. The Mingo guy mustve been there and grabbed the big red oak trunk nearby as fresh cutting prior to my being there. I spied this white oak trunk nearby and am debating on taking any. 460 hasnt seen action in over a week. Just as im finishing up a guy in a truck stops and asks me if i wanted to take any of the wood from his yard. Another huge red oak they felled last week. Diagonally across the street from where i just cut. Got the okay to park in his driveway and cut on sight. Ah, the dilemmas of a hoarder! Decisions, decisions! So what do you folks think i should grab next, red or white oak? Next two pics are of the red oak. Stump is over 30"
I’m spoiled. I don’t have to go very far for my scrounges. But I’m jealous of the wood available in your area! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good for you Brad, what a terrible problem to have. My vote is grab the White Oak, just cause I was thinking recently that I haven't cut any in a while. Nice pics to boot!
buZZsaw BRAD you might want to mill that white oak and turn it into a shelf for all the "you suck" awards you are accumulating . Seriously since the red is now officially yours, I'd grab the white and then get the red.
Grab the white oak first. Then get the red at the neighbors house. Just let him know when you'll be over to grab the red oak.
I was just informed by my road agent that asplundh has some money to spend and will be coming to take trees in my town real soon. Oh boy, i hope i can get to those trees before BuZZsaw Brad. Going out cutting today im just trying to decide where im gonna go. I might go get some ash at the newly discovered ash grounds. I cant wait, my sister inlaw is also coming today from Jersey so shell be keeping my wife busy all week so ya know what that means, woop woop mo wood and truckloads of it, get my you suck awards ready boys cuz i am fired up
