Driving home yesterday i passed very fresh cutting by a tree service clearing by the wires...hickory, one was shag. I stopped and talked to homeowner. Got the okay to take and cut. Woulkdve started then but a heaping PU full of BL. Didnt know when id get there. Had to go back to get the rest of yesterdays locust and no rain so was going to cut some today...cant let this go. Came home the same way. Tree guys cutting a little farther up, cop directing traffic, hickory gone. Tree service came and took it...dang! How fast does a hoarder hafta operate! :hair: Oh well, cant win em all!

You should have cut the stump off like I did yesterday LMAO. Sucks being late to the party :)

Strange how some of these trees lay for years and some get cleaned up fast. What’s a hoarder to do?

Yeah! Havent used one in close to a year! First time was a shag score too! Im wondering how that would work out? Can homeowner keep the wood in they ask? Is it property of the tree service? Wasnt expecting it to be gone that quick thats for sure. Two minutes from home as well!

It's the property of the homeowner. But, they probably didn't trouble to tell the tree service that they had promised it to someone. And somebody with the tree service wanted it!

It’s a little convoluted in Ct. It’s the property of both parties at the same time almost. The tree service doesn’t own the wood but they have a legal responsibility of removing it. The owners have the responsibility of claiming it if they want it, by signage.
The sign should work,,,,you’d want land owners permission of course. I’d think you’d also be morally obligated to take all the wood and not leave anything behind. Make sure the chipper has gone through first LOL

If it’s like it is here, when cold weather hits lots of people start wanting/looking for wood. Last winter I had a guy come to the door asking for some knot cutoffs I put in the ditch with brush for city to haul off. He may have also been looking for a house to rob. He seemed kind of amped up in a crystal kind of way.
sometimes I have to share with coworkers too. You win some and lose some. Better luck next time!

Locust mania is starting to catch up with ole’ Brad. Can only do so many sleepless nights and crack of dawn scores before you start to loose your edge.

I had told the lady i didnt wanna commit to taking it if someone else stopped for it. First come first served type of deal. Didnt think of the sign either. Wonder if my friend still has his i told him to make when they cut a tree in front of his house last year. IMG_0288 (2).JPG
