Don't fall for that trick! Ever here of the movie "Soylent Green"??? Ironic that it takes place in 2022......or is it???
I remember seeing "Soylent Green" in the early 1970's when I was in the military. Charlton Heston played the detective that found out they were using human bodies to produce Soylent Green foods. I don't remember what year in the future it took place. It seemed like a good movie for the time.
And why do they insist on calling it a burger?? It ain't a friggin burger! Don't call that $hit a burger to try to convince me its a burger. It's a salad on a roll.
Ingredients for hamburger patty: 100% Pure USDA Inspected Beef; No Fillers, No Extenders. Prepared With Grill Seasoning (Salt, Black Pepper) Ingredients for plant based patty: Water, pea protein*, expeller-pressed canola oil, refined coconut oil, rice protein, natural flavors, dried yeast, cocoa butter, methylcellulose, and less than 1% of potato starch, salt, potassium chloride, beet juice color, apple extract, pomegranate concentrate, sunflower lecithin, vinegar, lemon juice concentrate, vitamins and minerals (zinc sulfate, niacinamide [vitamin B3], pyridoxine hydrochloride [vitamin B6], cyanocobalamin [vitamin B12], calcium pantothenate). Well, I would never have thought coconut oil - which makes this an automatic NO for me. I love coconut but developed allergies to it and I don't need more hospital visits. Interestingly, they then go on to show: Peas are legumes. People with severe allergies to legumes like peanuts should be cautious when introducing pea protein into their diet because of the possibility of a pea allergy. Contains no peanuts or tree nuts. Okay, most people think of tree nuts as pecans, almonds, walnuts etc. But they never show coconut in the allergen section.
A plant base patty does not sound very appetizing when you brake it down to the basic ingredients! It kind of makes you sick to your stomach.
I try to steer clear of fast food, but i will if I'm in a hurry or on the road. So 3-4 times a year...
You have to ask yourself if McDonalds are going to use imitation cheese to go on their imitation cheeseburger?
