Was to an old timer, wanted to upgrade. Came in the a 1950s saw, forget the brand, musta weighed 40lbs! We have at least 3 or 4 more of them.
This is interesting.... The exact same 797 was on a different ad from Bend Oregon with 40" rollernose bar, extra fullwrap handlebar & McCulloch carb last week for $600 FIRM,cash only no trades & they wont ship either.Ad was deleted sometime on Monday 11/3. Still its a great price for both saws, the Super 797 is the later version & the rarer one of the 2.Only sold from October 1969 to May 1971,then the CP & SP125's with same displacement/different features took over.
I had a 797 Super... Traded it to Randy for some port work. Also sent him that pile of parts in the pic...
A lot of the saws at the shop look like that. Have an 10x30 building full floor to ceiling, all looks like that. Plus 3 other areas in the shop, AND random "glory holes" in other places. lot
+1. I'd gladly take a $50 797, CP125, SP125, SP105, PM105, 795, or 895 (or Homelite 2000/2100/3100G, or Homelite 650/750, or Pioneer P-60/61/62, or Pioneer/Partner P-65, or Poulan Pro 655, or Husky 1100/2100/298/2101, or...). You do know that a lotta Mac models look somewhat like 797's..........without actually being a 797 right?
I think $500-$1000 for a 797 is nuts................unless it was NOS. 'Vintage' saw prices have gone way out of hand lately. They fluctuate quite a bit................especially on feebay (which is about as far from reality as possible).
i have a big old mac ,numbers on bottom are 1- 76 86, can you tell me which saw i have? thank you in adv.Greg
