Tapped yesterday. Sap is running like an artesian well. Looks like a great week ahead for collecting sap.

I tapped yesterday as well. First year for me, but the weather looked pretty good for a run this week. We'll see.

I am guessing we will begin tapping this weekend. Perfect weather coming, looks like. There is about half dozen of us that combine our sap and burn one or two days. Usually get a few gallons a year.

Sweet! :) Today is looking like day here as well. I was wishing I had done it last weekend, cause we probably missed a couple pretty good sap running days this week.

My neighbor with the saw mill - Paul - has a hobby sized wood fired evaporator for sale that I was considering, cause I still haven’t gotten around to building the homemade one I was planning. May have to make a move on that this weekend as well.

I haven’t heard back from him yet. Maybe he’s afraid I’m going to ask him about cutting some more logs next - lol. :D

....And wouldn’t ya know it, no sooner did I write that, he got back to me. I’m going to take a look at it tomorrow. Sounds like a very reasonable price.

Only got 12 taps in today. I’ll probably do around 25 total. Quad sure came in handy! Don’t know how I got along without one of those for so long.

Thinking of being able to see how much is in them is a great idea. I could see it as huge time saver.
