My new tractor arrived yesterday late afternoon. Parked it quick to run to my son's basketball game in Watertown. Didn't know it, but we had to drive home through snow fall. Turned out okay, took our time. Very excited about this tractor. Getting some time this morning to get use to it by cleaning up some snow. More snow forecasted for tomorrow as well.

The tire chains I had The Wood Chop Shop order from TireChain.com. They are the Duo Ladder Conbination with V-Bars. I've used and owned enough machines and it doesn't matter how much they weigh, you will slip and spin with ice and the right condition snow. Even in four wheel drive. These chains make s huge difference!

After I clean up the snow here and back at camp, I may switch over to the grapple. Give it a try and see how it works.

If I feel well enough that is. This cold is not completely gone yet. Feeling better than I was though. Thanks to lots of liquids, chicken noodle soup. Liquid DayQuil during the awake hours and NyQuil and sleep!

The operator's loader control is mounted just to the right hand side. A nice place for it to be. IMG_2656.JPG

HST pedals side by side are very convenient. Push the left to go forward, the right to go in reverse. No clutching needed. Great if you do a lot of loader work. Like I will be.

You can see here how they run the controller hydraulic lines under the deck and up behind this metal frame. The yellow button is the third function for the front auxiliary hydraulics.

I went with the 24" bucket on the 75B backhoe for the extra capacity for dirt.

The hoe comes set up for a thumb, which I may add in the future.

AWESOME! That is a fantastic machine! I was looking hard at that same model (without bh) before I stumbled onto a lightly used Kubota. That Mahindra has got outstanding weight and what seemed like limitless power for that size tractor, and no DPF. With the addition of your bh, that will be an absolute BEAST.

    Ask, and ye shall receive!

They did not make the hydraulic lines long enough for it though. I can not tilt it all the way forward and down. The Wood Chop Shop owner says that will be fixed on Monday.

    Hey Gasifier,
I really like your grapple set up on there. Next time you have it on, would you mind taking a picture with the grapple closed. I'd like to see how tight it would grab logs. Again, super nice looking set up.

Gas.. I understand this is no shelf queen.. but can we explain to these southerners (particularly that Eric VW character) that it is not all that easy to get something muddy in snow:loco: :p:rofl:

No problem. Will do. I can see already I may need to modify it. I move a lot of brush. So I am not as concerned with how tight it closes, but how far it opens. The opening on this one is not enough for me. I will work it for a while first. But I imagine I will get together with my neighbor who is a machinist/welder. I think we could just go straight up with the hinges or bolt pivots and increase the opening. Even increasing it by 8-12" will make a difference.
