Does anyone have any experience with the Husky 435E II 16"? Looking for a smaller and lighter saw to back up my Rancher 465 24". TIA

    I've had a 435 for many years.

I pull. It starts. I cut.

I don't have a much bigger saw to compare it to.

I've cut red oak logs 12-15in, no problem.

It's not an E II. It did need a cylinder replacement due to scoring, for some reason.

M2theB did the repair, and was satisfied with its performance

My 445 E II works fine, as well. It's a newer model.

I take it your 435 would be used?

I never understood why manufacturers overlap their models as much as they do. The 445 isn't all that much bigger. Oh well.

I set my 75yr old dad up with a 435 a couple years ago. He has a hard time starting it now. His does not have a decomp valve. Aside from that issue, it does start, run and cut just fine, for what it is. Its light weight was one of the biggest draws.

I like the saw. Although I haven’t experienced the newer version.

MikeInMa saw was just a piston replacement and it was likely partly scored because a bolt on the lower half cylinder was loose and drawing air. Had some running issues as a part of that.
I’ve had one where the transfer cover was leaking.
And another with a carb issue.

I have a feeling that problems the saw has are factory QC issues, if it has a problem. If not, it’s a strong saw for its class.

Not the easiest to work on, kinda like a Stihl.

When I can find them cheap, like under $50, I try to snag’m. They almost always look brand new and the fixes are more labor than parts. Which I like to do anyway.

    A piston. Not a cylinder.

    I defer to M2theB .
