Should arrive in about a week -Special Limited Edition model of the model XXV top handle arborist's saw with original 10" bar/micro chisel chain I believe.Sold only in 1976 to commemorate America's Bicentennial. Have wanted one of these for a long time, they don't show up for sale too often, are in high demand by saw collectors.Got it pretty cheap, has some carb issues from sitting forever, tiny crack in fuel tank on lower front. But its not gonna be used anyway... I seen one at a local yard sale 20 some years back for like $30,shouldve grabbed it then but I wasn't into collecting yet.Just had 3-4 saws that seen use & that was it. About half the time these are found with the matching red plastic carrying case,I prefer it without one because that just takes up more storage space.
Other than the issues you mention that dont matter, it looks near mint-Congrats and dont feel bad about the one you passed on some 20 yrs ago, prob didnt know you'd be a nut about this stuff at that time?
Very nice find. True Bicentennial memorabilia is great. Doesn't WeldrDave have the 1976 badged Fisher stove?
Yup! Very cool find!!! Put that on the shelf for looking at! Also, I'm gonna start scooping up "every" 1976 Fisher I can get my hands on. I have an XL and I looked for years for one, but thats not going to be worth what a 76 stove will be worth in about 50 years. I now boot myself in the A$$ for spending all the 1976 quarters I had, most of them went to qt's of Beer
Pretty cool little saw for the collector. Don't let screwloose get a hold of it he might turn it into a coffee table. Congrats there Thistle.
Yep!! Still have it!! His is in better shape! I paid $40 for this, a 066 in a box, and an old hard hat that I've been meaning to send to a friend on this site, but haven't yet.
Here's another one just listed - Looks almost as nice, but its way more money than I paid, plus no mention if it runs or not.Not that it would matter anyway IIRC what research I found was they were around $130 or so when new.I did buy one of these original ads last summer for like 8 bucks. It hasn't been framed yet however poulan 76 chainsaw | eBay
poulan 76 chainsaw | eBay That one on Monday 4/10 sold for $197.49 + shipping. No nicer than mine, had the carrying case in equal condition.I stole mine by comparison Mine arrived in today's mail, very securely packaged in a small cube box. I really don't think mine was used at all - just shelf wear on bottom from sitting all those years + there is no wear on the spur sprocket, bar or chain that I can see either.Something caused the fine crack in lower front of fuel tank,it either fell off a shelf or something was knocked into it however. And the threads on gas cap are messed up,it don't tighten down fully.Someone crossthreaded it at one time too. But overall I'm very pleased.
