9hp Yanmar diesel powered. Some old timer in western PA built it, I added a 16gpm pump and the truck bed crane:

That's pretty cool.... Do you need to wrap the cord around that one to start it? If so, it's been around for a while. :)

It's so ironic, that I was going thru threads last night on this site and was surprised that I didnt find a Splitter thread.... too cool that we have one now. i'll get some of mine posted up. I wanted to get something unique/ home built, but those seem to be rare in my area. I wound up responding to an Ad on CL for Iron and Oak Splitter. When I called the #, I got the Sales Manager for United Rentals. They were getting new models in and were selling off their 3 yr old units. So I bought a 22 ton model from them for $1200. I felt I got a pretty good deal. Unit was serviced regularly and was in great shape. I very likely had rented this particular unit in winters past. Im planning on changing out the 5 hp motor to a Honda 390 (13hp) and putting on a larger pump to get some more speed and muscle. Motor runs plenty strong now and Im 3 yrs ahead on wood so not necessary to up my production at the moment, but when the time comes.....:dex:

I guess it's a splitter? I mean it does split the wood! I don't have close ups of the actual splitter, but you get the idea.

Details are fuzzy but ram I think is 4", maybe 5", it's 30 or 35 tons at 3500psi. Pump is 40gpm, runs just the splitter. 6 way knife with adjustable height. Also have a 4 way for it but hardly use it.
I do have a regular splitter as well for doing the stuff that's too big. I'm limited to around 20" across on the processor.

Whole deal powered by a little 35hp 4 cylinder Kubota. Good on fuel, burns about a gallon per cord.

My little splitter I have to start like that. The recoil broke and I never bothered to get parts for it!
