I am considering getting a LED light bar for my truck. I don't want to spend hundreds on one but I don't want to waste money either on junk. I'd like to find a good quality one about 32-40 inches long under $150. (and bright) I have been searching on amazon and the ones in those ranges while they have 4 star and up reviews also have a few negatives ranging from not actually waterproof as rated (condensation). To LEDS burning out within a few months to not actually being rated to the advertised wattage. So I turn to you gentleman and ladies for your experience, if you went the "cheap" route. I suppose a bar isn't necessary but my goal was to run 1 wire, be able to rotate it from front to back. The intended purpose is to mount it on top of my headache rack and illuminate the back of the truck for working, yet be able to use it in the front of the truck if needed when off the road at night. I haven't decided if I want a combo (flood/spot) or just go with a flood light. I think the combo would be more utilitarian for front/back. Flood would work best probably for the rear though. Here is the thing about amazon reviews (if you didn't know), the vendors have been bribing buyers with a gift card in exchange for a 5 star review, so I can't trust those 4-5 star reviews on these lights. My recent purchase of a trail camera came with a card stating if I gave a 5 star review they would send me an amazon gift card. I take issue with that personally.
While not a light bar, per say, I got a pair of the led driving lights for my Kawasaki bayou. They are super bright. Honestly I only have 1 installed and it lights up everything in the woods. For only being 18 watts, you'd never think that would be enough wattage. Until you power then up at least. I bought these in February of 17, no issues. If you got a longer light bar with more LEDs, you'd be not needing any more light.
I got the exact set for Christmas, testing them with a jump pack and they were very bright. I plan on mounting them forward on the Kubota as the loader blocks the factory headlights. If they last, I'll put a couple rear facing.
I have the same ones as Horkin as backup lights on my plow truck. Mine are pointed down, and they do very well.
Just put a rigid industries 20” on the boat. Was worried about quality of material on the lower end ones Very pleased with it so far
I've gone back and forth on buying rigid lights. I'm probably going to bite the bullet and buy some spot lights for docking, but on the truck, I could buy 10-15 replacement bars if they failed compared to one Rigid.
