In April of 2020, we found out my mother had brain cancer. When she's up for it, I spend Fridays with her. We do a lot of crossword puzzles. This morning I asked her to teach me to sew. She did it professionally for quite awhile about 35 years ago. The thimbles she had didn't exactly fit...
I wish your Mom well and good luck sirbuildalot with those crossword puzzles and sewing lessons. You're never too old to learn!
God bless you. I just put a gold star on your man card. That right there is the best therapy mom could ever get. Good luck my friend.
I'll bet she's so grateful to have you there every step of the way. Treasure every single moment. Thank you for sharing this, really.
Truly sorry to hear about your Mom, and I just have the highest praise for you. Absolutely beautiful thing you are doing, God Bless you both!
Awesome sirbuildalot , you are a great son!! Now let's talk about that thimble, kinda reminds me of an Extra large condom on my.......
If you have some leather scraps, you can create a thimble similar to the Band-Aids used on the end of the finger. Good on you for learning a new skill and spending time with your Mom.
That’s awesome! Quite often family and friends will avoid someone with a serious medical condition, they have a hard time dealing with it. You and your mother are fortunate to have such an awesome relationship.
Sweet memories are made of this! Great that you are tapping into what she has to share. I bet she's a good cook, too... Prayers for her health.
Yes, a good cook, good baker, good at refinishing antique furniture. She’s good at a lot of things. She also has a great sense of humor and is incredibly strong. We witnessed her arm wrestle my wife and aunt (her sister), after a few rounds of chemo and radiation. They thought they were gonna have a cake walk and would have to take it easy. Yeah, no. She flash slammed them to the table with a purpose. We all sat there with our mouths open in disbelief.
You are Good Man my Friend and an Exceptional Son. Prayers for your Mom. The thimble on your finger is hilarious! Knitting next?
