On this used 346XP I have, it leaks oil out of the oiler really bad. It's just a puddle after sitting. What are ways to fix this?

Also, what's the best way to get the plastics clean and shiny again? Maybe this is a question for those who have restored chainsaws.

Simple Green and Purple power work well as cleaners. Then this stuff is what I use on my motorcycles to keep the plastics clean and shiny.

On the oil leak, check out this thread:
Husqvarna (Jonsered) 3 position oiler mod

The 2 rubber oil pump lines get old and don't seal like they should. Probably best to just get new ones but if you're cheap, a very small amount of rtv on oil free surfaces can buy you some time before those new ones are needed.

I usually apply a lot of degreaser than have at them with a pressure washer. Silicone spray is what I use to shine saws.

    The oiler....possibly?

Not to hijack...Original Spirits polish and S100 Detail are my moto fluffers. OS for cleaning bugs and gunk, S100 for luster and shine.

I use S100 in a sprayer and buy refills. (i've never put simple green or purple power on a bike)

When they are crusty enough it gets sprayed on the engine and lower, let soak and hose off. I used to use the Original Spirits, for a long time. It's all I used back in the day on my first couple street bikes ('91 on). Then I saw how well the SC1 worked at the bike shop, that got me hooked. Funny, we use the 2 products for opposite functions. Spirits was a spray on "polish" for paint and detailing, s100 for bugs and gunk.

The wash is excellent stuff. Soooo expensive though. I try to keep it to where I don't need water to clean it. lol

Yep, me too. I've had issues in the past. My yellow superhawks speedo would stop working for a few days if I used the hose on the whole bike, so I quit. One long trip on the Duc it sat out overnight in a downpour. Next day the heated grips had a mind of their own, switching from high, medium and low at random. :headbang: No more hose up up high.

Mine's British so it doesn't mind the water so much...except when you slack on chain maintenance...oof. Once hauled it on an open trailer through an hour long downpour. I would rather pull over and sit after gaining that experience.

Oh btw, Zack323 if you get replacement lines, I recommend OEM and not prc crap.
