Anyone using iOS 8 probably won't be able to upload files here from either Chrome or Safari. Problem is on Apple's end and is affecting pretty much every site.
I was just about to update my iPad last night. I think I still have 7.1. I may just wait. Seeing how I only use the iPad for this website
My iPhone 4s doesn't have enough memory left to upload iOS 8. If I deleted a couple hundred photos and a couple dozen videos, it might, but I ain't gonna do that now that I know this.
I just downloaded chrome for iPad, so I assumed that should give me a current version. (4pm) est. chrome wound't upload pictures to our forum site.
That's why I never update for a while after they come on the market... Too many screw ups are possible until it gets tested in the real world.
ISO 8 has two updates. The most recent is ISO 8.02. I downloaded it and texted it. Now able to upload pictures to this forum. I have to admit I was really agitated with it, but decided if @Grizzly Adam was willing to wait it out, so would I. My inclination was to go back to the ISO 7.04 which was working fine. I think there is more security I this latest version and an automatic integration with the cloud.
Adam, I'm still unable to upload pics from my iPhone5. I updated to 8.0.2 (Directly from 7.something) thinking they might have fixed the problem. Nope. Who the hell releases an OS for any device with this many bugs? I thought the point of Apple's developer rules was so that things stay working? (I'm using their phone, thier OS, and their broswer.........) Seems as if they took a page from Microsofts playbook.....
I'm certainly no expert on the matter, however, it seems to me that ISO 8.02 is more energy hungry than the ISO 7 was. My tablet needs charging more frequently. There are some good features, but I don't think they should have released it without further testing. It screws up their own equipment and it didn't take a geek to find this out. Apple will loose a lot of followers if they are frustrated by this failure. ( hate this auto spell ck. changes the word)
Friend of mine put it on his phone and said the battery drained at twice the usual pace. The next day it was a brick and he had to restore to 7.
No battery issues so far. I have FB messenger now and that's a battery hog according to iOS 8 and the settings app. Ha! I can upload in Safari now but I have to lock and unlock the phone after the upload box pops up. Otherwise I see the box but I can't tap any of the buttons. WTF Apple?
Sounds like I'm staying where I am for a while. That kinda of stinks but I'm so use to the IPhone, don't think I'd switch, unless I absolutely had too...
I'm sure it will get better soon. Just sucks for those of us that upgraded thinking it would fix what it said was fixed.
What problems you are having are shared with thousands of others. That creates enormous pressure to stop loss of customers. They have got to be hot on the trail to fix this blunder. If there is a retail Apple outlet near you, you just might want to pop in for a "chat". Never know what might come from that until you try.
