Nothing. Just freshly pulled up from the bottom of the Atlantic, and needs nothing except a minor cleaning.

    This is clearly a gag.

Guessing poor cleaning schedule and general maintenance, and no off season moisture control.

It is clearly the type of pellets they are trying to burn. I would change to a super premium softie and it will fire right up! :D

I wish it were a gag.....those photos are unretouched, and the stove is actually in place, plugged in, and hooked up. Its a case of extreme neglect, and we do see these things happen out there, sadly not as infrequently as you might think.

    Yes indeed.

The Advantage 2T that is now in our family room was a neglected child.

    $200 brought it home.

The ash was packed into every nook and cranny so tight that even the exhaust fan could not turn.

The ash traps were full to the brim and no air could move through the poor thing.

Got it home, cleaned out the ashes, removed the exhaust fan and turned an air hose into the stoves innards.

After removing what seemed like an endless amount of ash it was finally cleaned out.

Oiled the exhaust fan bushings and got the motor freed up.

Stove ran like a champ and still does.

In fact it still has the original blower motors on both fans.

Even the auger motor is the original.

A bit of maintenance does wonders.....

The only real repairs have been to replace the Fire brick 3 years ago....and then to add the new control panel that I built up.

    Great stove...

I'm guessing it just needs more time to break in.

The part I don't understand is the large amount of water and rust.

Our stoves stay dry year round and there is little to no rust anywhere in the cabinet.

Is this a result of extremely high humidity ?????

I could not make that happen here if I sprayed a hose in the door every day, yikes.

HOSE....SPRAYING IN THE DOOR OMG o_O

    Yeah...I know what ya mean....

I have never lived in a place with really high humidity along with high dew points....

We can leave the stoves with ashes in them and the vents open (DIRECT VENTED) and never see moisture condense inside the stove...

We would all like an "after cleaning" picture.
