I posted about this some time ago I'm not sure I put it in the game room . WWW did infact go with left handed for her. I watched her pick up a guitar last week and play it left handed though she writes with her right hand. Idk, WWW does things ambidextrous too. The one that blew my mind early on was when I realized he reached over and ran our shared ten key printing calculator with his left hand... Anyway the stock was custom order (it is retractable/extendable for as she grows), The scope is special order. The rail was special order. He's on the second set of special order ring mounts that do not fit once again though specified and he was told they would fit. Hopefully he can get the right mounts at some point.
Sounds wonderful My mom was ambidextrous as well, I did not inherit that trait. She was primarily right handed, but could write cursive left handed better than I could.. period I got my "chicken scratching" (my mother's own words) from dad
Far out!! It's a bit confusing when we were teaching how to tie shoe laces though, since I am right and he ties them left handed. I should pay more attention and see which way she does it!
My mom was left handed and we had to make sure she in the right spot (like turkey day) with the family so there was no issues. Lol
WW, did you check for her dominant eye? We have a ton of right handed kids that shoot lefty due being left eye dominant.
is the rail a pictany (spelling) type- that needs to be specified or rings ordered as such specifically The other thing is diameter the scope tube is 1" or 30mm ( slightly larger). a mfg packaging screw up happens also. One of the parts suppliers I use keeps sending me the wrong size springs- because thats what is in the bin- one of these days the light bulb over there will turn on mostly because I am getting kinda ticked off, and I sent them complete specs on the spring.
Yes, we did, she is oddly left eye dominant like WWW and I. That said, my husband does many things left handed and she does too. So, he bought her a lefty gun. She writes right handed but poor kid ties shoe laces both left handed and right handed depending on who's she's with...... Anyway husband has been in competive trap shooting and makes so many adjustments all these years (though he's a great shot hunting game and fowl) he started her on lefty gun. She can shoot it but he still cannot find the correct rings for the scope. The picture is a small bullet rifle he bought for himself under the guise "it's her rifle", to go along with another gun he bought for "me"
I am left handed and left eye dominant. I have a bolt .22 that is right handed. It is my yard gun. All my shotguns are pumps. I shoot a Browning pump rifle 30.06 for deer hunting. I have dropped a few deer with my son's bolt. 308 and my daughters bolt .243, both in right hand configurations. Really is not a problem. In fact with some practice you can get off some fast follow up shots with a little practice. True story...my second grade teacher tried to get me to write right handed my making sit on my left hand. She gave up after my parents talked to her.
Just to make life interesting, there are some inexpensive scopes out there that are around 7/8" dia. for the main tube. Typically, found on .22package deals and some air rifles packages also.
Edit, black steel rings vs the stainless steel rings he wanted. I apologize I am not firearm knowledgeable . |Either way, she (they) are up and running for training on the new scope Adding pic from my phone soon
