Just curious if anyone else is fortunate enough to live where they can use this method to haul off trees?
Just chain it up and drag it to the tree pile just outside of town. 1.2 miles from my back yard to the tree dump. 3/4 of that is a state highway. And it’s a pretty common occurrence.
It sure is nice to live here.

I like it! Can't do that where I live, but on a related note I've often chained up to drag a tree/log located in a hedgerow or just back into the woods to an open spot out in a field where is is easier to work on it.

That's going to be a no from me. Around here, I'd be pulled over for towing an unregistered tree, no flora insurance, tax evasion, failure to acquire 643 separate permits....

I can’t but if I did, I’d cut all the brush off before I dragged it home.

Hahaha I love it! Never tried down the highway, but we've pulled a few down the road at Backwoods Savage 's gtg's. Now I gotta try that in my township. Maybe I'll hook a monster up to my new crawler & pull it down the road for fun.

I’d probably be gunned down by troopers.

For those wondering, that is Dexter Day and Shawn Curry in the picture (taken in 2016). Sadly neither of them seem to be on the forum any longer.

Can & have but it’s hard on the chains, but at night it makes for a nice sparkler effect.

It’s surprising how little gets ground off. A couple years ago however, on a hot day, I had a cedar tree smoking that I had to keep an eye on for awhile.
I made 4 trips on this weekend.

that’s why I don’t live around those parts

Talked to a guy at my townships brush dump that told me he got a warning for too many leaves blowing off his trailer as he was driving to the dump

Can we get a HATE button added for posts like this??? My truck is always bleeding leaves and organic fines when it gets on the road... I sweep it out if the wife needs to use it for something "delicate", otherwise it's a wood hauling mess...

(Not hating the post, just the content...)

A branch snagging an imperfection in the road surface, curb or a sewer cover might not be a pretty sight.
