I am going to be looking at one in the next few days. He isn't asking much but I have not seen it either. I have looked up the specs. and checked briefly on parts availability. I hear that the air filter set up isn't great. It isn't a runner but guy says he thinks it is just carb/ old gas. I think I need to check through it pretty extensively before I buy. I saw you can buy a Golf piston for it does anyone else make a piston for the saw? Only used coils seem to be available and that is spotty? Anyone need a parts saw if it ends up being more than I want to deal with?
Rob, I have a 910 that I picked up on the other side of Louisa about 5 years ago with a Granberg mill. Good saws but parts are getting spotty. I might be interested if it is cheap enough. I passed on one outside Gordonsville several years ago for about $80, it had many problems.
The good news is it is a Jonsered 930! And it is basically all there. The bad news is the kill switch is busted, bar stud is stripped out, and last but not least the piston is scored due to the impulse line being disconnected? and a piece of tygon run from the tank vent into the impulse connection on the carb? and leaned out. I don't get that but the cylinder doesn't look very far gone. The saw still has some compression.
I have not bought it yet. It got dropped off by the son for me to look at and make an offer. Guy wants $100. I am not feeling it at that price with the scored piston.
I was thinking $80 but was thinking of starting a little lower. Do you have any experience with the lil red barn pistons? Are they reboxed Golf's?
mdavlee, any idea on the best option for crank seals for this saw? I have seen them for sale but am assuming they are AM. Is that the only option? Interesting to see the clutch side seal is part of the oil pump body. That one is bad but I guess I should replace the flywheel seal as well.
I got .590 and 1.180. Which just about matches 15mm and 30mm and is what is marked on the seal 15 - 30 - 7/5.
