John Deere Hy-Guard in my log splitter?

I have access to John Deere Hy-Guard oil and was wondering why it wouldn't work well in my dirty hands log splitter. Ive been looking but cant seem to find much on is and considering how intelligent everyone here is, i thought i would take the easy route and just ask. thanks all

 

Sure, use it. It's hydraulic fluid.

 

Check what weight oil they call for in the splitter compared to Hy Gard. If it is the same don't see why not.
Supposed to be good stuff from what I have heard.

 

hy guard is a multi viscosity hyd oil it is fine to use in your splitter JB

 

Most log splitters aren't too picky about their hyd oil...and Hy-Gard is good stuff, I'd use it if I already had it.
