The other day i noticed the blueberry farmer down the road seemed to be clearing some trees in the back of his fields but it was hard to tell from the road. A few days later me and the wife took the dogs for a walk along the back of the fields only to find piles of trees pushed up into the woods and some still laying out in the field!

He's a hard guy to catch but today on my way out to run some errands i saw him running the mini excavator so i swung in and asked him about me being able to cut from the stuff he was piling up. He said sure and even told me he had a few stacks of logs that i could cut from also! This stuff is literally a 1/4 mile from my wood pile. :D

After running errands i grabbed the saws and headed up the road and found myself acting like a kid in a candy store. There are tons of red and white oaks ranging anywhere from 8" up to some 40" monsters! I hauled two loads of smaller stuff with the truck today and plan on headin back down with dad and his trailer in the next couple days to winch some of the large trunks. I know i know, pics or it didnt happen. I'll snap a few tomorrow, im still comin down from my my wood high

    No that's a great score ! ! ! !
    Great pictures too !

Is that a 359 on the big oak. ?

You can back right up to the work & load up.
This score should set you up for getting ahead.
I see 2 cord in one tree. That's gotta make you smile :) :)

That dark center, a pig nut hickory maybe .
BTUs , what ever it is ;)

Might be some "in place" splitting there,
Some big heavy rounds, be smart with your back * *

Yep that's a 359. Love that saw. She screams even with the bar completely buried.
Im gonna cut a round off that "unknown" stuff and bring it home to split. If it splits like gum it's stayin put :axe:

If it " don't split " like gum, leave it. LOL
The stuff you have to choose form, take the good stuff .

Man, ... it just looks like a serious fun score
    Enjoy yourself :)

I have the 359 green cap too. Did change the muffler
to the non catalytic, some of the chain saw gurus said it would run cooler.

I noticed it likes to run hot. Never heard about swapping the muffler. Did you notice any difference?

I'm not the guy to ask. I grew up with an axe & a bow saw cutting fire wood.
Dad got his first chain saw after I left home :)

Old saw is a 1972 Husqy 61, some missing parts , some epoxy, wire & tape, good moose camp & back up now, same chain.

It cut great before the change & great after.

Even the dealer here said after the warranty, he'd change the muffler.
Got it thru Baileys, made chain, "T" wrenches & file order to justify the high shipping charges.

I did have to turn the carb screws some, but didn't have to pull the covers off them.
    I think it runs better,
A good light weight saw & with a sharp full chisel chain, it rips thru a 16" green birch round like butter.
Mid range saw, specs close to the 357xp.
Most 357 parts fit it, like the muffler
