Moose and Caribou tags. Moose just opened November 1, 2017 to February 28, 2018. Caribou has been open since October 1,2017 to April 30,2018.
Over the counter, Alaska welcomes you, when ya moving up, I will bee there to help Scotty Overkill These tags are over the counter, wait for it...wait for it....FREE! When you move up let me know I will give you a hand.
Its a good place to be, raise the kido's. Alaska has its share of problems but its nothing like lots of places. Rural Merica has its privileges that cities don't have. I lived in the Lehigh Valley back in '95 to '02 and we don't have the issues today that that area had then. Then again -50*F does keep lots of trouble in the cities really far away where its way warmer.
I don't think Unit 13 has late moose. But , I sure will check into it. Alas, one more reason to move to Tok !!!!
I gotta find a hot spot for grizzly and black bear. Not so much that I want more bear hides. Just too many calf eaters . !!
Come on back, a moose each for you and the miss' is a great reason. They also allow designated hunter with permits, to hunt for others. I hunt for quite a few others in Tok that cant go do it. Its not like the states Proxy hunter, not a age, or physical thing. Its a help somebody thing, you just need their tag and you good to go.
Ya, I proxy hunt caribou for some folks. I guess I can proxy hunt moose for them as well If they get tags. I don't think we have a late Fed moose season here tho . I'll find my Fed regs . See what it says. The Copper Basin isn't really overrun with bull moose tho. Lot more in 11 +12.
Unit 16 predator control area but not much access. Need to let the guides & non residents in there for grizzlies . Bounty & no tag needed. Moose Calves don’t have a chance.
We can bait them here in 13 . I got so spoiled in Unit 4 , it kinda ruined me for working for a bear. I would see anywhere from 2-25 brown bear just going to and coming home from work on Chichagof Is. Fawns dont have much chance there.
