Can see obvious weak areas for heavy use, but kinda cool to see an evolution in what most of us use all the time.

Is it evolution or simply "repackaging" with a neon color?
I remember when they first invented the axe. It was marketed as part of a "2pc kit". It came with a spear.

I agree!!! My only thoughts on this is it may be light in weight and could be carried, or in a ATV box for light use if needed while camping. I don't see re-Inventing the wheel. I have the small Fiskers X11 in my ATV box.

X11 is a great size. I have one in my crate of things that go cutting ; perfect for bark removal, clearing small branches or driving a wedge,

The website says the design is based on the aerodynamics of a hawk. But I didn't know hawks split wood in the wild.

Here’s my thoughts. Looks cool but not practical. So you’re going to remove mass from the center so it’s lighter and easier to swing. I understand there is a compromise or balance between an ax and a maul but when you make it so light it won’t go through the wood so you have to design a hammer striking surface on the backside (is that what that is I guess? Or maybe for driving circus tent stakes?) so you can strike it with a sledgehammer (another tool with more mass to make up for the mass you removed from the head of your first tool). Just seems like you are making even more work. Too Rube Goldberg for me. The flat striking surface seems to be an admission it lacks the needed mass. So now it’s just a fancy wedge with a handle. But if someone GAVE me one I’d try it out just to see but I would save my own money for other things. Take the mass from the backside and fill the hole in the middle along with the extended knife portion and you have a Fiskars x27. Already have one of those and it needs no improvement. This is just another wheel with flashy hub caps. Makes me think it’s for a flashy new Hollywood superhero version of Paul Bunyan and his high tech/magic ax.
