Maybe this has been discussed before but anyone have a way to monitor operating temps of a flush mounted insert? Also in this configuration my flu is inaccessible. I would love to find a way to monitor these temps as the more I read here the more important I’m finding out this is. As of now I think I can tell I’m overheating my insert when I have a huge red glowing coal bed from oak and I start to hear the metal in my stove “clicking”. I can only assume this is parts of the stove that are expanding due to the heat. At this point I usually try and back off the feed to burn down the coal bed and I also increase my fan speed to cool down the stove insert.
