    Anyone know or I know there are a bunch of these saws out there do you know what your saw settings are? I bought a 5 saw lot off CL and this was one. Solved the no spark issue, bad wire connector. Saw fired and wants to run, but is running insanely fat. High screw was 7 turns out and low was 6 turns.

    @MasterMech don't you have one?

    The Poulan 306A was similarly messed with and I tweaked for a long time to get it dialed in close, a base point would be nice.

    That is where they are now. Piddling with the pull cord, and hoping for a better response.

    I have a Super 2 which I believe is similar. It's not running at the moment so I have no idea if the carb settings are good or not!

    No worries, I have concluded it needs a carb rebuild. The XL and Super 2 would seem to take the same rebuild kit. You just have the interesting double trigger on yours. Old school hybrid tech.

    The XL is a neat tidy design. Cheap but neat and tidy. I also tinkered with a 192c this weekend, not neat and tidy. I realize that 30 years of safety and emissions requirements separate them but holy train wreck.

    If by neat and tidy you mean "take the entire saw apart" to replace anything...

    Lots of early top-handles were like that. Split the cases and puke the engine out on the bench. Go through the issues, do some preventative replacements and re-assemble. Good times. :D

    10 screws and it is totally apart. What is not to like?

    About 8 screws too many! Haha, just a lot of dis-assembly to inspect a fuel line or clean a carb.
