I just finally received my new Woodstock IS. Looks very nice. what are people doing with the condor cat probe? Seems to be to long, just bending it or cutting it to length? Thanks in advance.

Twigster I do not have one installed, there’s a thread on it somewhere. The problem is the probe is about an inch and a half long and interferes with the slide mechanism that engages the cat. What most people are doing so it clears. Is it putting a slight bend about inch and a half before the tip

Thanks for the info. Can’t wait to finally get it installed. I have some brick work I’m going to attempt.

Woodstock sent you a cat meter that doesn’t work? Seems like something they would sort out given their reputation of R&d prior to product release.

I agree, wonder if its the wrong probe... I have a Condor cat probe and it fits with no issues. I put a 1/4" thick magnet washer between the probe and the stove body to help hold it in place. New had a fitment problem.

Here's a picture, I pulled out the probe a little so you can see the magnet. 20200706_063953.jpg

My stove didn't come with a a cat probe, I don't think. Where do they sit on the stove?

Looks like yours might need a wee adjustment?

Thanks for the pic. You have to keep things simple for us Jarhead’s. Crayons and pictures work!

Why would it need an adjustment?

It's not pushed in all the way but more importantly, the needle is supposed to point to something like ambient air temperature but yours is way low.

Hahaha, I pulled the probe out of the stove body to show where the magnet was located.... It sits up against the stove body and magnet when its in and not out for display purposes to show him where the magnet was.... Perception is not always reality I guess.

I'll look at the needle placement to see if I need to adjust it as it has seemed to be reading low over this last winter.

    Thanks Highbeam

The Condar probe won't last long? The magnet won't? Not sure what won't last long as I've had this set up for 5 years and its been good (minus the adjustment it may need as Highbeam pointed out).
