I picked up a couple of ibc totes that have about a quart/liter of residue in each one them. It smells like paint thinner but brown. I was wondering what to do with it?
Don't want to dump drain to my septic and if I dump on the ground I'm sure it'll kill anything near it for a quite a while if not forever

Does your community have a hazardous waste day? If so, drain the residue into some empty jars and dispose of it.

Dump it in with your used motor oil and take it to your "recycle" place...I really doubt that it actually gets recycled, I think a lot of that stuff gets sold to places that heat with waste oil...

I built a processing building in Lewisberry for
ACV Enviro | Industrial Services | Environmental Waste Management
Liquid wastes that did not contain PCB's and a few other nasty's were mixed with sawdust and hauled to landfills.
The entire building has a HDPE liner underneath to contain spills.
Not sure what you have but mixing with sawdust may be an option.

Fill a coffee can with floor dry and dump into that. Let it absorb up and dry out, then pitch it.

Drain into empty container and dispose of responsibly. PITA at times but good planets are hard to come by!

I changed the oil in a hydro the other day and spilled some on pavement and used sawdust from a circular saw to soak it up then swept it up into trash.

I hope they're not explosive vapors.
Can you remove a sample and test flammability ?

It's odd that there is no label?

What about leaving the cap off during the heat of the day? Does it evaporate? Not sure what the best approach is environmentally.
