we all know what season it is so I wanted to share something I doing with my kids for the holidays. The white birch I cut and halved with a 346 and 16 inch bar. . My son cut some pine greens. We drill a 7/8" hole for the candles and attach everything. With a hot glue gun. I like that my kids make something for a gift instead of buy it. Give them something to do and I am sure they will remember. This may not be the best place. Feel free to move it. I wanted to share it with you guys and yes it does involve a chainsaw. Season greeting my friends.
Great idea! They look awesome! Yes, the kids will remember, and gifts like that are worth so much more being home made.
Looks very nice and Holiday like. I swear it just seems like I saw his baby pic not long ago . Dang we are getting older fast.
I agree. Homemade is the way to go!! Way to keep the kids busy with something other than video games. Nice pics! Thanks for sharing!
It is going fast. To fast now. Heck just over 2 more years I will retire. If I had bought my fed time I could have retired last year. But with a son in college I thought I better wait.
I remember making those years ago in Scouts, as gifts for our parents. Very cool project, you did a great job and they will look nice on the coffee table.
Same with us for scouts. It was a good project. My dad ran the bases through a jointer to make them flat. That part was very dicey...
We didn't have a garage or shop when I grew up but my dad did have someone prepare a couple birch logs so that my brother and I could do the project together with our dad. One of the only times my bro and I weren't fighting.
