    ...because of Cinnamon buns.

Started about 8:30am making the dough. It is a double rise recipe that is a slight pain, but worth it.

Fired the oven with maple and white cedar chunks at about 10:00am when the second rise started.

Serious rolling secondaries going on this one.

    Before second rise.

Raked out the coals to soak the floor for even cooking.

    On the way out.

I need to work on the sugar glaze. They were really puffy, light and flaky. A half a pan went up to the neighbors that I will barter for a beer or two later. I am stopping now on my third bun as I type.

It's possible I'd lose my appetite after eating 3 of those, not likely, but possible.
Cream cheese glaze would be good.

Yeah, those could ruin dinner for me. That and a cup of coffee to go along with them.

    They look great!

Thanks, I'm glad folks like seeing the pics. No smoke taste at all. I burn the fuel down to coals and spread them out to heat the floor. After that, the coals are removed only leaving the hot bricks and cob.

The air entering the oven moves in along the brick floor to the fire, up along the dome and back down and out the top of the door. Even when I have a fire going during pizza cooking, the inrushing air keeps the smoke up and out.

Wow. I haven't thought about "monkey bread" in a long time! My mom use to make it a lot as it was easier than cinnamon buns. She use to make "adult" icing with cream cheese and Frangelica liquor which we'd sneak by the spoonful.
I may have to make some this week, for old times sake!

With the title of the post, I was expecting to see them on the ground or eaten by raccoons or something thinking you lost your appetite seeing your hard work get ruined, not sick from eating too many ;). NICE job!

While they are not as good as real cinnamon buns, Monkey bread is great and easy. All you do is take a tube of biscuit dough, roll them into balls and then into cinnamon sugar but you can add other spices too. Put them in a greased pan, touching, I use a round cake pan or bundt pan and make circles. Dot with a few tsps of butter and nuts as you build the layers and bake. You get the gooey cinnaminy tastes of buns fast and easy.

I'm sure there are plenty of variations and recently, I even saw them the in freezer dessert section at the grocery store ready to bake.

Here's the so called "official" recipe http://www.pillsbury.com/recipes/grands-monkey-bread/7a1e41b1-4708-4028-8ce6-fcb5baebbc19

and the box from the grocery store
