Got about 30 nice rounds from a tree service. I am thinking red oak, but not real sure. Thoughts? 20171222_073850.jpg 20171222_073850.jpg

Red oak for me too, but those smooth branches are maple.

Two species for sure. The bigger ones look kinda like an oak variety. A split piece picture would really help.

(The smooth bark looks like a birch.)
(Looks like a small piece of cherry under the pile)
That could be red oak, but there's something about the bark that looks like poplar. You'll know better once you split one. Oak would be extremely heavy for its size, have a dark orange to red center and smell noticeably sour

Based on the pith (visible if ya zoom in) the larger pieces would be elm, plus wide growth rings-
    Split and sniff, pizzy smell=elm.
Also, no overtly visible medullary rings= not oak.

doesn't look like any red oak or white oak that grows around here.

the small smooth bark piece looks like black birch which there is none of here.

I've got to agree with the poplar call here. Not the most prized wood...but it seasons fast and burns. Easy to split too. I like the stuff.

Bigger rounds look like cottonwood and the branch wood looks like the silver maple we have around here.

I agree with jcmc. Hit one with an axe, it will be obvious at that point.

Tulip poplar for the rough bark. Should have some faint green on the inside when split that fades over time.
Some type of birch for the smooth bark and a little piece of cherry hiding mid right on the first pic.
