I’m getting close to purchasing a larger axe primarily for felling ( really just cause I want another axe)
These are the axes I’m thinking about.

Thoughts on Prandi Yankee or German style
    Snow & Nealy
    Ochsenkopf Universal

    thanks!

I can't really comment on any of ones mentioned, but just a reminder sometimes you can find a great old vintage ax head on ebay and put a new handle in it and probably have a better ax then a lot them on the market today in that price range, and it's a lot of fun, finding a really good old head and hanging it on a good hickory handle. I have acquired some really good ones, that way.

I'm enjoying Stihl's new splitting axe.

Currently restoring an old Brades Co No3 311 hatchet head which had spent around 40 years in a damp garage draw. Feels like a good quality head, and nice feeling bringing it back to life.

So with cooler weather back, I’m immediately back on this awesome site! That said, I did some heavy soul searching ( actually looked in my wallet) and ended up with another Fiskers axe to add with my x27. I bought the Fiskers felling/chopping axe because for now I decided I wanted a functioning axe over a classic one that Id be cautious of using. It’s chopping power deserves all the hype it gets.

I don't have any of these but those Ochsenkopf axes are SWEET!!! At least I think they look sweet. If I had to pick one, that would be it! I do feel what you're saying about using something like that, sometimes it just feels better to get a Fiskars and use the work horse!
