I was bored and needed some finely split Firestarter's.

    So.....

I turned these six pieces of 2x scrap lumber

    into this.....

Lets play a game!!! Sorry no prize, only the satisfaction of being the best guesser.

How many splits are in the second pic? I didn't include pieces that broke off and weren't full length.

Not guessing but ill usually average 3/4" square splits from 2X lumber...provided its knot free. I was framing a couple walls over the Summer and purposely cut the knotless ends off the 2x4's so could make nice kindling from them!

    Quite a few!!!

I normally don't split them quite that small, but I was bored and they will make nice quick starters.
