My 460 and 361 are at the Stihl dealer for work. Was told the 361 is a fuel line. (simple repair IMO) 460 has bent handle and broken brake lever plus i wanted mounts checked as a tree landed on it (dont ask).
Been there well over a month. :hair:Do parts take that long to arrive? I understand covid has slowed things down but really!!! Stopped in a few times and called and am getting impatient.
We did have Isaias (topical storm) and a tornado shortly after and was told they are busy.
    What do you folks think?

    I'd be impatient as well.

I would think as a business owner, a little OT to keep customers happy would be $ well spent when brand loyalty is a MAJOR part of sales.

This is the second ive used. Have purchased saws/parts from other two, but never had service done by them.

Depends on the sense of urgency you had when you dropped it off. A month seems long regardless.

I had a chop saw ts420 that had erratic idle issue. Told the dealership it was my back up. A month later they still haven’t looked at it. I told them I was picking it up the next day to take it somewhere else and the had it fixed by the time I came.

I have 5 stihlerships with a 30 minute drive and I have no loyalty to any cause they all suck.

For the repairs you listed even 1 solitary minute is to long. Sorry but thats my opinion. Simple fixes with not much danger of screwing anything up.

I have four dealers within 20 minutes and now two of them suck. One other i bought a saw from in 2010 and the other ive bought accessories.

A week at the most for a fuel line. Parts might be an issue on the 460. Before I could do most repairs I would always ask for a time frame on repairs from the shop. My dealer has piles of parts saws to pull stuff from if he can get new. I'd be stopping in to get some answers.

After 2-3 weeks, I’d be wanting my saw back. I agree with above, when I dropped it off they’d have to give me a timeframe for the work being done.

My vote..... go ask for the saws back saying you have someone else to fix them. Then take them apart yourself and you will probably find you like to tinker on them. Next thing you know you'll be buying kits and putting them together on the coffe table while watching TV.
Didn't you once say a long time ago that you wouldn't catch "cad" ......how'd that work out for you.....

Stihl dealers should get parts 2 day tops. Some are delivered next day.
I had a weed eater in for service at Stihl dealer and I was back 2.5 weeks later asking about it. Carb rebuild or swap out pretty straight forward. I talked to the owner and got the typical short on help, swamped bit, but my weed eater was fixed on the spot.

I get a call about 430 from the dealerand both saws are ready. $250 for both and i know the parts for the 460 were in the $135 neighborhood. Picking them up tomorrow and leaving the 170 for warranty work.

Our dealer has most parts in the next day, two tops...and that sounds like about an hour's worth of work...I'd go get my saws.
Hopefully you didn't tell then "no hurry" when you dropped them off...

Even as a tinkerer, I’ll order parts Online on a Sunday afternoon typically after trouble shooting a saw and I’ll have them in time for the next weekend install. Getting the parts isn’t the issue for the shop.
