In my Harmon P68, it typically takes 8 to 15 minutes for the pellets to catch fire.
The shortest is about 8 minutes for a softwood/hardwood blend pellet ranging to about
15 minutes for a 100% hardwood pellet. Just curious how long it takes for a fire to start in
    various stoves with various pellets?

Mines right around 2 minutes as well. We are kind of cheating though with the Enviro's which are multifuelers with a pressure ignitor. Has an air pump that blasts air through the ignitor, Acts like a blow torch.

Stove will light pretty much any fuel you put in the hopper(nothing I have tried hasn't lit)........ Even bunny poo.

Bunny Poo, that’s a riot:rofl:  I suppose if your raising a bunch of rabbits you could have a nice haul. It took me along time before I realized what our Golden Retrievers were snacking on......

It used to be up to 10 minutes. Igniter died, cannot find the spare so we are lighting manually for now. I just remember I put it somewhere really safe, and that my friend (she cleaned for me too) did the same a couple times. Who knows where it ended up

And yes savemoney , I finally bought a bottle of hand sanitizer :)

If I have just cleaned the stove and removed all the ash under the burn pot, mine will light before the initial feed of pellets is done. As time goes on and ash starts to build up under the burn pot, the time increases. I don't think mine has ever gone 8 minutes, though.

I discovered this too but I think it's the partially burned pellets that makes the difference, so I don't scrape it totally clean.

  No idea. I checked all the places I consider safe to stash stuff (up high, out of lil ones reach, and towards the back so it doesn't get knocked off and break), texted the friend and she told me the places she had moved it to & from. I'll buy one next year if it doesn't show up. We combined our large home with over 20 years of stuff with this small home and some stuff, so much has gone out the door to donations, I'm hoping it didn't go too accidently, but I do think its stashed somewhere.

And I can almost guarantee you if I buy a new one, the spare will show up withing 3 months.

Throw a couple of handfuls of pellets into the burnpot before starting.

    I think my 10-cpm with a new ignitor had a time-to-flame of about 1 1/2 min.
