Looks like he's selling a boat full of BS......other than a new bar and chain, I can't see that he has done anything to the saw.

Mastermind does actual cylinder work to improve compression and power.

My cousin is all hot about these saws so of course I had to satisfy my curiosity. Just wonder what he really does though.

That's just it, I don't think he does anything to the saws. The video of the 180 sounds like a stock saw with a full chisel chain, cutting a pine log. I think my 170 would cut just as fast.

Hope your cousin comes to the GTG, he can run my Masterminded 372XP :drool:o_O

That's a good thought, I'll tell him to wait to buy a saw and invite him to the G2G

Just looked at the ad… when I see… "no video available" and "Comes with factory dogs and 16 inch bar and chain. We can substitute PS chain by special request."… I'd say the guy was selling a stock 170, period. The Hoarders who work on these would know a lot more about this offer… I'd consider the "HOT SAW" part major BS, like so much crap for sale today…

Its B.S....or a gimmick . I think I heard on AnotherSite that they maybe put on different sprockets as well . Other than that...just a bar and chain . Mastermind does cylinder and muffler work..and they are truly "hot saws" . Piltz is Poop :)

That is funny, saying "it cuts like a MS180" and thinking that is really something.

The same seller offers a bunch of "Piltz" hot rod conversion kits for various saws. Every one is just a bar, chain, sprocket and *maybe* a clutch drum -- every component a common, name-brand part. But of course you get to enjoy their disclaimer, "Designed For racing only not homeowner use."

    Hold me.

He's a shyster with that stuff. You can buy the sprockets $10 cheaper from Madsens or danzco.

I consider a "hot saw" to be a 750 cc motorcycle engine with a bar and chain attached.

I think if you want a hot saw, just wait and find a 90cc saw in good condition used. Add a 25" bar and a narrow kerf chain and it will sizzle.

Some of you old timers may remember Rotax Robert from AS. Here is is running The Predator, an aluminum block V-8 chain saw. If you let the video run a few more will come up.

LOL! Take a 660 and the 12" bar from my 192. It will melt the bar within minutes.
