I figured i would start a new thread about my issues with my g400

I have been having leak issues for a good chunk of this season that started out minor but have gotten worse

Last few days have had major issues of getting water temp up past 100° and discovered this when I checked this morning 20200412_110229.jpg

Opened the bottom chamber door and had a bit of a waterfall

I had a leak in mine as well. One of the welds that hold the side shields started to leak. (Last year) I cleaned it out and had a welder come patch it using the appropriate rod for SS. Has been fine ever since. Good thing there is lots of room inside the 400!

Still have ours running as well. Seems like Winter doesn’t want to surrender.

Do you have a tote to drain out the water. Will have to before you weld it. Just lower than the fault of course.

I have been in talks with heatmaster about getting a welder to come out, but that was before the world went nuts

What I'm thinking is just trying to limp out the season, drain the unit, load it up on a trailer and bring it back to heatmaster so they can do it in house
    (Benefits of being 15min away)!

I climbed up on top of it last night and realized that most of the flues are full of mud, hoping to clean out this morning and hopefully it will allow enough airflow to get a higher temp
Right now its struggling to heat the house with outside temps hovering around 0°

If your 15 minutes away I’m surprised they don’t just send a guy out. For the amount of work to unhook it, move it, fix it then all again in reverse. Would be cheaper to just get you own welder to come out. Seriously it’s not even an hour job. I’m in construction there are ways we do our work by keeping a safe distance and all is good. At least get heatmaster to supply the guy the proper welding rods.

Do you have a wood stove for back up? I wouldn’t run it if it’s leaking.your going to plug up everything and will take half a day to clean it out. Trust me on this one.

I think I found why the temp was so slow to rise, my damper on the front was a bit stuck
Now back to working good, just filling water in every few days

I took the turbs out a number of weeks ago and washed out any mud that was clogging the flues (after a cool down)
    The other day
