Bought an hm126 with 14hp upgrade, only bought standard length mill because I’m building a 30’ trailer for it out of channel and making my own extension to be able to mill 25’ or so and be portable. Figured the trailer will be a benefit in two ways, make it movable easy and not having to worry about leveling it all the time if I didn’t pour a slab for it.
Hey I have two sets of blade guide shoes that Woodland Mills sent me by accident and they don't fit my mill ( wrong ones). Check the part number for your machine and if you want them you can have them for whatever postage is , shouldn't be much since I can just toss them in a padded envelope or worst case the smallest flat rate box. 0003581 is what the bag shows for the part number I have.
Thanks I’ll check the numbers on it when it shows tomorrow, looked at a 130 max also but decided the Electric start and 5-6” wider didn’t matter much. I have 3 Alaskan mills a 28, 48” and 72” double ended bar version so I can break any log down to get it on the mill. That is if it won’t make good slabs.
Going from a chainsaw mill to a band mill is like driving a Yugo and then getting into a Cadillac , You are going to love it!!
I’ve dealt with them before just hadn’t spent the money for one till now. The woodland mill looked like the best mill for the money when I was researching them. Maybe I’ll regret not buying the woodmizer but I don’t think so.
They all have their Pro's & Cons, We ended up with the WM because it is what was available (used, 25 years old at the time) Enjoy the new toy!...I mean new tool!
We got 6”’over last day, no call for delivery yet so maybe tomorrow and I will put pictures up after I get it all together on the trailer so may be awhile. Lots of irons in the fire at the moment. Need to split some slabs in half to make a drink rail for the neighbors wedding barn that he’s starting.
Now the fun begins. Good luck getting it together. It is a bit of work , can't say that it is a hard but a little time consuming. Just take your time and make it as square and level as you can. Keep us posted.
Oh it’s going on a trailer, I have the 4” channel all ready to cut and will be buying spindles to make an axil next few days. Get trailer built and painted then I can mount the mill and add my extension to cut 20’ boards
Judging from the black coating on top of the box, it must have been a diesel engine failure on that broken truck!!!
Been kind of a slow go with all the other projects around house plus kids baseball ect. Mill base and trailer is about ready. Since this picture I welded some tongue braces and angle brace between track rails. Need to buy and weld leveling jacks on and paint trailer so I can bolt mill down. Was pretty nice my uncle had a mag drill he loaned me for drilling the 42 1/2” holes to bolt mill down.
weather and time finally allowed getting it sprayed last night. Hopefully it will cut a log this afternoon
all done and made a few test cuts to dial it on boards coming off same thickness all the way down and side to side so should be good to go.
