This morning I caught this little M.F. trying to get in my garbage, which is right beside my house. I ran into the bedroom to retrieve my .22 mag., thinking all the while "this ain't gonna happen, he's gonna run before I get back."

He didn't run, he just walked about 50 yards down the yard. A passing car on the road below spooked him and he trotted back my way. Big mistake as you can see.

He took one .22 mag h.p. round to the heart and dropped about 20 yards into the woods.

I don't like killing something I can't eat, but I can't let them get the idea I'm running a coyote restaurant either, too dangerous.

Unfortunate that nature had to collide with man, but you definitely don't want those around your house for sure.

You folks aren't missing much by not having them.

Now, if you could just do something about those pesky hedgehogs you have there! I've been robbed by those little critters of food and a few nights of sleep camping while bicycle touring in England.

I have never heard of any going after folks in this neck of the woods. They are plentiful around here.

Big city park in Vancouver, BC has had to close sections of the park as coyotes were attacking pets and people. Unusual year for weather and also they found out that people were feeding them. Parks board people have been slowly culling the pack amid howls of protest from different sectors of society.

They go after our chickens. I zapped one with a 40 sw handgun at the coop.

There is an actual hunting season for them as well here in WA. People get all creative with calls and such.

We have a year round season on them here, there used to be a bounty on them: $2.50 - $3.00 per set of ears iirc. When there is snow on the ground the hunting groups start running dogs.

Hate it when that has to happen, but understand your reasons. At least you made a nice shot so he went quickly and didn't suffer.
