Pictures aren’t great but I’m thinking tulip poplar and I’m basing that solely on the second picture

I can go along with that. If a sharp chain on a 70cc saw blasts through it than I’d be more confident it’s poplar.

I have the holiday off tomorrow and will head over and do some cutting. I don’t have a lot of room left but I can always find a place to take the good stuff.

That’s most likely silver maple. Here’s a pic from a pile I grabbed this week that I know is silver maple showing bark and end grain for reference.

Now that I am looking at it on a computer instead of my phone, I will say there are 2 different types of trees there. The big log is looking more like silver maple but the small log at the bottom of the second picture still looks like tulip poplar to me.

  14. now on the other log to the left in the bottom pic kinda looks like either poplar or ash would need another pic of that log but atm im leaning on it bein pop
