That's my hand in the vid. It was attached to a fellow Hoarder's 353 in Germany. Unfortunately due to the language barrier (He's German) I think we got the product name confused. The name he gave me was Kolibri/Colibri.

Has anybody else seen this thing or know where to get one?

The whole length gauge. Of course the nipple bolt and the couple are what make it so slick.

Would be better to make your own?
A barrel nut and a piece of old fishing rod?
The quick Stix is notorious for the rod breaking at the nut from vibration the first time you start the saw up?

Maybe if you were to weld an air hose fitting to a stock bar nut...

Anyhow, if you find a source, I want one.

Well, there it is. Pricey, and doesn't seem to be available outside Germany. So sad.

Still here. Not going to be here long enough to order one unfortunately.

That's certainly not convenient but it's not an impossible barrier either.

What makes it work is the tight fit between the coupler and the nipple. An air hose type disconnect would fail rapidly from vibration as they rely on an O-ring and pressure to maintain the "tight" connection.

What part of it do you think would fail? The O-ring? Why would that matter?

The amount of play in those fittings would let the whole thing tear itself apart from vibration I would think.

Maybe so. The German model looks very nicely made, but in the US I'd be worried about losing the bar nut end of it in a field somewhere and then being unable to replace it.
